The Development Committee Report:
The Society for the Preservation of Music Hall welcomed the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's new artistic director, Paavo Jarvi, with an appropriately refurbished office suite and Green Room. Thanks to Mrs. Patricia Corbett who contributed $100,000 to renovate the maestro's office suite.
The Greater Cincinnati Foundation's generous financial contribution of $37,500 for the Green Room Project enabled SPMH to fulfill the commitment to complete the project in time for the opening of the CSO season. We are forever grateful to them and their support to improving the quality of life in Cincinnati.
SPMH also received a generous donation of $25,000 toward this project from The Thomas J. Emery Memorial. This donation was extremely important for the completion of the Green Room project and we thank them for their commitment. We wish to thank again those whose gifts added to the success of this project:
We are grateful to The Corbett Foundation, which donated $600,000 to make possible a badly needed passenger elevator in Music Hall. The new elevator is an elegant means for many individuals, who cannot use the escalator, to access to all areas of the Hall. It is located in the North Hall and everyone is welcome to use it.
