The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ Installation
in the ballroom of Cincinnati's Historic Music Hall

Frank Messer & Sons Construction, under the direction of Ronald F. Wehmeier, has begun work on preparing the ballroom of Cincinnati's historic Music Hall for the installation of the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, originally hosted in the Albee Theatre in downtown Cincinnati.

The organ's pipes will be placed in the room first. Ron Wehmeier says that the normal specification of 61 pipes in each rank will be expanded slightly to include an English post horn, a classical division, strings, flute and celeste. This will enhance the performance of the organ, giving greater leeway in the types of music that will be played.

Here's a visual diary of the installation, courtesy of Scott Santangelo, manager of Music Hall. Click on each image to enlarge it.
